Promotional Video - Planning

DSB Construction


1. What do you want to happen when people finish watching your video? 

Business objective - I aim to portray the company as a successful, high quality and cost effective option for those who are considering construction for both personal/business purposes.

2. What does your audience care about and how does your product or service relate to those concerns? 

Define audience - Wide range of clients within the commercial and domestic sector, from high end retailers such as Hugo Boss to families wishing to expand their homes. 

3. What specific problem am I trying to solve and how to communicate the solution to that problem. 

Define message - Because they are a smaller business they don't use social media for advertising meaning that they may not be distributing to a larger audience which could increase their intake of clients. Therefore I hope to a promotional video which can appear both on the company site and a business youtube channel so it can be shared on social media. As they started off as a family run business, I want to reinforce the fact that their success derives from a deep passion for the construction industry and a dedicated team of quantity surveyors. 

4. How are you going to get people to watch your video?

Distribution - Sharing the video on the company site means that current/previous clients are able to see a bit more of the company and get to know the service they will be receiving. I also think having a video on the website will encourage more interaction from potential clients.  

5. What is the idea for this video? 

Concept - To be discussed with client. 

My current ideas:
  • Get to know the company style video: show where the company is based - offices in Worcester, have staff talk about their experience with DSB and why they love their job and include some client testimonials. 

Promo Video Inspiration

Positives:

1. I like the follow along style as it lets the audience experience what it's like day-day to work in construction and demonstrates the service that the client will receive. 


Negatives: 

1. The drone shots are a great way of illustrating the construction that takes place but I won't be able to replicate this. I will need to find another way to reinforce the construction side of the business which may be more difficult to achieve.
